Ingredients

Preparation

In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in apple and walnuts.

Transfer to a greased 7-in. pie plate. Bake at 350° for 25-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in water until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Serve warm with dessert.
