Ingredients

1/4 cup butter, softened1/4 cup shortening1/3 cup sugar1/3 cup packed brown sugar1 egg1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract1 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking soda2/3 cup chopped dried apricots1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the apricots, chocolate chips and walnuts.

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2-in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
