Ingredients
4 ripe avocados
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 c. creamy vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. whole milk
1/2 c. Chopped cilantro
Whipped cream (below)
1 c. chilled heavy cream
1/4 c. confectioners’ sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1To make whipped cream: Whip the cream using an upright mixer with a balloon whisk or a handheld electric beater until almost stiff. Gradually add the sugar, beating until well mixed. Add the vanilla. Beat until the cream holds peaks. Top shakes with dollops of the whipped cream.Step 2To make shakes: Cut each avocado in half, discard the pits, and scoop out the meat. Add to a blender and blend until finely chopped, about 1 minute. Add the remaining ingredients, reserving 6 teaspoons chopped cilantro for garnish. Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
