Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter1 large onion, sliced1 fully cooked spiral ham (7 to 9 pounds)1-1/2 cups chicken broth1 cup red wine or additional chicken broth
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325°. In a small skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a roasting pan; place ham on top. Pour the broth and red wine over ham.
Bake, uncovered, until a thermometer reads 140° and ham is heated through, 2-3 hours.
