Ingredients
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. kosher salt
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp. cumin
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. cayenne
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1Combine spices in a small bowl. Rub desired amount on both sides of brisket, about 1 tablespoon per pound
Want the rub to be a bit spicier? You add a few more teaspoons of cayenne. For that matter if you like any one aspect of the rub (or dislike) you can simply change the amounts! Just taste a bit and adjust accordingly. Wondering what to serve with brisket? While we love a good potato dish (fries or mashed anyone?) but adding a pop of freshness with coleslaw is also a perfect pairing. Any leftover spice can be stored in an air-tight container, preferably in a dark space, for up to a year from when the first spice was opened. Have you tried this yet?
