Ingredients

3 c. all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking powder

3/4 tsp. kosher salt

1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened

1 c. granulated sugar

1/2 c. lightly packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese

4 tbsp. butter, softened

2 c. powdered sugar

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Pinch kosher salt

2 large apples, chopped

1/2 c. chopped pecans

1/4 c. caramel

Preparation

Step 1In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another large bowl using a hand mixer (or in the bowl of a stand mixer), beat butter and sugar until fluffy and pale in color. Add egg and vanilla and beat until combined, then add flour mixture gradually until totally combined. Shape into a disk and wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 1 hour. Step 2When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350º and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper then grease with cooking spray. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out into a 12” circle. Place dough on prepared baking sheet and bake until just set, but slightly soft, about 25 minutes. Let cool completely. Step 3 Meanwhile make topping: In a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and beat until no lumps remain then add vanilla, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Frost crust with cream cheese frosting then top with apples, pecans, and a drizzle of caramel.
